This section summarizes what you need to know when you enter into a contract with First Choice Entertainments UK, to provide professional DJ, mobile disco, instant photography or event lighting services.
We strongly recommend that you read our terms and conditions carefully before placing a booking and entering into a contract with us.
Please note that references to "we" and "us" are to First Choice Entertainments UK the company.

1) Booking Confirmation & Reservation Fee
Bookings will only become 'confirmed bookings', once the agreed reservation fee (as shown on the contract), has been paid direct to First Choice Entertainments UK.
This fee represents a 15% deposit, which will be deducted from the total amount payable. However it is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
2) Cancellations
Cancellations must be made in writing to First Choice Entertainments UK, at least 30 days prior to the date of the event. If this is not done to cancel the booking, the full hire charge will be incurred.
3) Damage to Equipment
The client will be responsible for any damage, (normal wear and tear excluded), to equipment (sound/lighting/photographic equipment) caused by anyone in attendance at the event during the contracted time period, including the time allowed for setting up and packing away, unless damage is due to negligence by employees of First Choice Entertainments UK. The full cost of any repairs required will be charged to the client who will be advised of any damage as soon as possible.
4) Violent, Aggressive or Abusive Behaviour
First Choice Entertainments UK will not tolerate any violent, aggressive or abusive behaviour from anyone. Where this occurs, we reserve the right to terminate our services at any time, and to finish the event earlier than originally contracted, if we feel that the safety of our employees or the safety of our equipment is threatened in any way. In such circumstances, no fees of any kind will be refunded to the client, and First Choice Entertainments UK reserve the right to claim damages against any person or persons involved, in addition to claiming costs where necessary for damage to our equipment (see point 3 above).
5) Reimbursement for Double Bookings
If a booking has been confirmed and First Choice Weddings UK attend the function to find another service provider has been booked by you, the promoter(s) or any other persons, then the full fee shall become payable as per the agreement.
6) PAT Certification
First Choice Entertainments UK will ensure that all the equipment used carries a PAT Certificate, as legally required by various venues.
7) Venue Damage or Power Failures
First Choice Entertainments UK will not be held responsible for any damage caused to the room or building where the services are provided and will not be responsible for any power outages.
8) Professional Conduct and Dress Code
First Choice Entertainments UK agree to conduct themselves in a sober and professional manner, and to respond to the reasonable wishes of the client with regards to the volume of the PA equipment, the position of equipment, or other matters concerning people's enjoyment of the event. We also insist that our DJs are smartly dressed during performances. For more information, please refer to our Code of Conduct.
9) Access to the Venue
The client shall ensure that the venue will allow the First Choice Entertainments UK adequate access time for the setting up and taking down of any equipment. If the performance start time is delayed due to the inability of the company to gain access to the performance area, or any other delay beyond the company's reasonable control, no liability will be accepted and no refund will be given.
10) Payment for Services Supplied
Payment to the company will be as stated for the agreed appearance times. Any additional changes to times must be agreed in writing by both parties, and are subject to any possible increase or decrease of cost.
All cheques must be cleared 14 days before the event, otherwise full payment is required in cash. See point 12.
11) Public Liability Insurance
Public liability insurance cover is provided by the company only for the protection of the public against damage caused to the public by the First Choice Entertainments UK personnel or equipment and not by any action of the booking representative or anyone in attendance, who may cause any such damage to themselves or others which may include, but is not restricted to them being under the influence of alcohol of other substances
12) Balance Due Less Than 14 Days Before An Event
Balancing payments due less than 14 days prior to the event date, must be settled in cash and should be delivered prior to the scheduled start time. Under no circumstances will First Choice Entertainments UK begin rendering services until the balance is paid in full.
13) Event Licenses
First Choice Entertainments UK is not responsible for obtaining any licenses that may be required to stage the event. It is the client's responsibility to ensure that any such licenses are obtained at least 31 days prior to the event. If you are unable to obtain such licenses and need to cancel the event, please refer to our cancellation policy as stated previously in point 2.
14) Power Supplies and Equipment Protection
First Choice Entertainments UK, at their discretion, reserves the right to discontinue all or part of equipment usage if the power provided is not capable of operating the equipment without risk of damage to the equipment, company or the public, or if the working environment constitutes a health and safety risk. If applicable, the client must agree to furnish a facility that completely covers the company's equipment from direct sunlight and rain. If service must be discontinued for any reason, no refunds will be given
15) Replacement Service
If, for whatever reason, First Choice Entertainment UK cannot attend your function, a suitable replacement will be sourced, and we will cover any additional costs.
16) Equipment Failures
In the case of mechanical failure, resulting in non-fulfilment of any of the services First Choice Entertainments UK supply, refunds will be limited to the amount paid for this service.
17) Nut Allergies
First Choice Entertainments UK take health and safety matters very seriously. We would therefore like to make it known that some of the food products given away as 'Freebies' may contain nuts and or wheat. It is therefore the client's responsibility to ensure all that guests and participants at the event are made aware of this fact. If you do not want the DJ to hand out food products, please inform us as soon as possible.
18) Cleaning Costs
First Choice Entertainments UK will not be held responsible for any cleaning costs, however incurred, whilst using any of our party products.
19) Travel Expenses
Our travel expenses are normally included in the price where the venue is located within a 30-mile radius of the PE37 postcode area. However where we are booked to travel to a venue which is outside of this area, First Choice Entertainments UK reserves the right to apply an additional charge to cover travelling expenses.
20) Promotional Photography
First Choice Entertainments UK reserves the right to take photographs before or during events, and to subsequently use them for publicity and promotional purposes. Please note that we may use pictures which show people's faces, so if you do not agree to this, please let First Choice Entertainments UK know prior to your event.
In all cases, any photographs taken for promotional or publicity purposes will remain the copyright and property of First Choice Entertainments UK.
21) Delivery of Equipment & Set-Up Costs
If First Choice Entertainments UK has to deliver or set up equipment or products prior to your event, please note that this may incur a small additional service charge. Where this is the case, the client will also be held responsible for the security of all such equipment and products whilst stored at the venue.
22) Complaints
At First Choice Entertainments UK, we take all complaints received very seriously, and we will endeavour to resolve any issues brought to our attention in a fair, honest and reasonable manner. If you wish to make a complaint, please do so in writing, and send your letter to:

23) 'Give-Aways' or 'Freebies'
'Give-Aways' or 'Freebies' are handed out at the discretion of the DJ employed by First Choice Entertainments UK. These are given out with the express understanding that First Choice Entertainments UK will not accept liability for any misuse of these items, or if the item(s) become defective. If the client or the organiser(s) do not wish to have such 'Freebies' given out, then please inform First Choice Entertainments UK before the event.
24) Hire of Equipment
The client will be held responsible for the safe return of any equipment hired from First Weddings Entertainments UK. Our equipment should be returned in full working order; otherwise a charge will be made for damages. |
